The new bathroom vanity I installed last Tuesday started leaking from the supply line
I found a slow drip under the sink after three days, and it was coming from the shutoff valve I thought I had tightened enough. I had to take the whole thing apart, wrap the threads with fresh Teflon tape, and put it back together. Has anyone else had trouble with those quarter-turn valves from the big box stores?

Honestly, I've had the opposite experience. Those valves have been solid for me as long as you use enough tape and don't over-tighten them. Maybe you just got a bad one?

Actually, over-tightening is a really common cause of failure with those. It can crack the plastic body or warp the seal. A snug fit with good tape is all you need.

Ugh, that's the worst. Did it mess up your new vanity at all? I swear half of those valves are just waiting to fail.
