Put beadboard on my kitchen ceiling, got a weird shadow problem instead
When we redid our kitchen two years back, I put beadboard panels up on the ceiling to cover a bad drywall job, and it came out great for about 6 months. Then the shiny white paint started throwing harsh shadows from the under cabinet lights, and the grooves made these dark lines that drove me nuts at night. I spent $40 on a matte finish paint and rolled it on, and the shadows went soft right away. I learned the hard way that texture up top needs flat paint, not semi gloss. Anyone else run into weird lighting problems after adding wood paneling somewhere?
