Hot take: I tried using peel-and-stick wallpaper in a bathroom for a 'quick update'

The humidity made it all peel off in sheets after like 3 weeks, lmao. Anyone have a better idea for a rental-friendly backsplash that won't just fall apart?

My old landlord let us use Rust-Oleum's Tile Transformations kit. It's a paint and epoxy system that goes right over old tile. We did it in a rental bathroom five years ago and it still looked perfect when we moved. The key is the clear epoxy top coat, it seals everything against moisture. It takes a weekend to do properly with all the drying time, but it peels off when you're ready to leave. That stuff held up to daily showers way better than any sticker ever could.

Oh man, that's rough but honestly not surprising. Peel-and-stick stuff just can't handle steam from showers, the glue gives up. For a rental, maybe look at those stick-on tile sheets made for wet areas? They're a bit tougher and some brands are made for bathrooms. What kind of look are you going for?
