My dark mode buttons looked washed out until I stopped using pure white text | Dark Mode Design

I kept wondering why my call-to-action buttons had no pop on dark backgrounds, so I tried #E0E0E0 instead of #FFFFFF and the contrast actually improved. Has anyone else found specific off-white values that work better than pure white in dark themes?
