Bumped into a UX researcher at a coffee shop in Austin and she changed my view on dark mode
She said most people just invert colors and call it a day, but the real trick is adjusting saturation levels for readability. Showed me a study where 60% of users reported eye strain from pure white text on black backgrounds. Has anyone else tried cutting contrast a bit or am I overthinking this?

Gray text on dark backgrounds is way easier to read. Pure white against black is basically a flashing strobe light for your eyes.

Wait, does that mean I've been doing dark mode WRONG this whole time by just flipping the switch in settings?
