A client's grandma made me rethink dark mode contrast last Thursday

I was showing a 70-year-old client my dark theme dashboard and she said 'why is the text swimming?' Took me a minute to realize my 4.5:1 contrast was fine for me, but her astigmatism made the gray-on-navy text blur. Anyone else test dark themes with older users or people with vision issues before shipping?

Gray on navy is a classic mistake, people forget astigmatism eats low contrast alive. Old eyes or not, blurry text means bad design. Fix the contrast first, then worry about looks.
