Unpopular opinion: 2FA saved my butt last month but I still hate using it

I had to reset my email password after getting locked out of my bank account. Took me like 3 hours because I couldn't find my backup codes and the SMS wasn't coming through. The whole thing made me question if all this extra security is actually worth the headache when you're just trying to pay a bill on a Tuesday night. On the flip side, I know it's stopped me from getting hacked twice before. What's your breaking point with two factor stuff - is it a lifesaver or just annoying enough that you skip it when you can?

Wait but backup codes... you're supposed to save them somewhere safe right when you set it up, not just leave them in your email that you might get locked out of. That's kinda the whole point. I mean yeah the SMS thing is annoying when it glitches but it's better than getting your whole account wiped.
