My buddy insisted I turn on two-factor for my email, and I'm glad he did

He kept saying 'just do it, it takes two minutes' after his own account got hit, so I finally set it up last month. A few days ago, I got a login attempt from a city I've never been to, and the text code stopped it cold. Do you think 2FA is annoying or absolutely necessary for everything now?

Are you kidding me? You got a login attempt from a random city and you're still asking if it's annoying? That text code just saved your whole digital life. It's absolutely necessary for anything important, like email or banking. The minor hassle of typing in a code is nothing compared to the nightmare of getting your accounts cleaned out. Anyone not using it is just asking for trouble.

Totally agree. The tiny inconvenience is worth the security.

And honestly, the first time I set up two-factor I almost locked myself out of my own email because I couldn't find my phone. Classic me, securing my account from myself. But yeah, that five second code entry is a lot less painful than explaining to my bank why someone in another country bought a bunch of stuff with my card. I'll keep punching in those random numbers, thanks.
