Just got hit by a fake Microsoft support popup that looked legit

I was working on tenant paperwork yesterday morning and a full-screen alert popped up claiming my Windows license expired. Had to force restart to get out of it, and then found three sketchy browser extensions installed after. Anyone else seen these popups mimicking the real Windows UI lately?

Did you check if it came from that fake Adobe updater going around?

Would it be possible that it came from a different source entirely, @mila_jones39? I've seen a few people blame the fake Adobe updater, but I'm not so sure that's the only way something like this gets in. Sometimes these things sneak in through a browser download or even an email attachment folks forgot about. It could be worth checking the full download history just to be thorough, rather than assuming it was one specific thing.
