Installed a password manager last month. Was using the same password for 14 years.

Saw a data breach notification pop up for an old gaming forum. Checked haveibeenpwned. 23 breaches. All the same password. My bank account used that password. Email too. Felt like an idiot. How many of you just use one password?

Oh man that gut punch feeling when you realize how careless you've been. I did something similar back in 2015 when I found out my old Neopets account got hacked and that password was also my online banking password. It's scary how we just don't think about it until something bad happens. What got me was when someone logged into my Spotify and changed my playlists to some random german techno stuff. That was the wake up call I needed. Now I use different passwords for everything and it's such a pain to remember them all but at least my playlists are safe now lol.

Funny how we all learn the hard way about passwords, but the real lesson is how easy it is to overlook the small stuff like Spotify. Isn't it strange we pay more attention to financial accounts but forget about the ones that show our personality? A hacked playlist feels personal because it messes with your music taste, not your money.
