Found a hidden camera at my rental cabin in Gatlinburg, now I check every Airbnb

Last June I rented a cabin in Gatlinburg for a weekend getaway. On the second day, I noticed a tiny lens poking out of a fake smoke detector above the bed. I pulled the cover off and sure enough, there was a micro SD card inside. I called the local sheriff and they took the whole unit as evidence. Now I spend 10 minutes scanning every rental for weird wires or holes before I even unpack. Has anyone else found spy gear in a vacation spot, or am I just cursed with bad luck?
