6 months of using a password manager finally paid off big time

I got locked out of my main email account last month and honestly thought I was done for. But since I started using Bitwarden back in January, I had all my passwords saved and organized. I used to just use the same password for everything and pray it didn't leak. After a data breach at Target, I forced myself to change. The big difference is now I can actually reset accounts without panicking. It took me about 3 weeks to get used to the app, but now I feel way safer online. Has anyone else had that moment where a security tool saved your tail?

My brother had a similar thing happen with his bank app last year. He kept putting off updating his master password because it was a pain, then got locked out when the system forced an update. Spent an afternoon on hold with support to get back in. Now he keeps a printed list of his master passwords in a fireproof safe, which honestly seems like a decent backup. Paper isn't fancy but it works when nothing else does.
