Used to swear by margin auto for centering, now I'm all in on flexbox after rebuilding a client's navigation that broke on mobile last month

Does anyone else think the old float-based layouts were way more predictable, or am I just romanticizing the chaos of IE6 support days, and what made you finally switch camps?

Nah, floats were a nightmare once you had to deal with clearing and equal height columns. Flexbox finally clicked for me when I had to get three uneven content boxes to line up perfectly without dumping extra wrapper divs everywhere.

Floats had me using clearfix hacks like I was trying to solve a puzzle blindfolded. @jordangibson you're braver than me for sticking with them that long - my first flexbox attempt was basically me slapping "display:flex" on everything and hoping for the best.
