Hot take: that one Tuesday when every site I touched broke in the same weird way
Back in 2019 I ran a little WordPress shop out of my apartment in Boise, and one Tuesday in March every single site I opened had the same bug. Some plugin update pushed a rule that turned every button into a giant blue oval the size of a dinner plate, and it hit 6 of my 8 sites by lunch. I spent 5 hours in DevTools chasing one !important tag that some dev left in a theme from 2014, and the whole time I kept thinking about how we used to just inline styles and call it a day. Now everything is nested flex grids and container queries and I honestly miss when the worst thing that happened was a float clearing wrong. Did any of you keep a screenshot of your ugliest old bug, or am I the only one who hoards that stuff?
