A dev on my team talked me out of a 3-second loading spinner and the Slack thread proved him right
Last Tuesday I shipped a small CSS spinner on our checkout page and our lead dev Marcus said 'that thing will jitter on every iPhone and you'll never hear the end of it.' I brushed him off, but then 6 people in the #frontend channel posted screen recordings of the spinner stuttering and snapping on Safari in like 20 minutes. Turned out my keyframe animation was fighting with a transform on the parent div, so the whole thing jumped 2px every cycle. I swapped to a simple stroke-dasharray animation with no transform and it's been smooth on every device I tested in Des Moines since. Curious if anyone else has run into a spinner that looked fine on Chrome but fell apart on Safari?
