Tried building a magazine layout with floats first, grid saved me 3 hours

I was trying to lay out a multi-column article with images floating in weird spots and kept fighting with clearfix hacks. Switched to CSS Grid with named template areas and everything just snapped into place immediately. Has anyone else ditched floats entirely after getting comfortable with grid?

So did you totally dump float-based layouts from your workflow now?

Man i feel this so hard. I spent a whole afternoon once trying to fix a float collapse on a client project and wanted to throw my laptop out the window. Grid really just makes everything click into place, no more random margin hacks.
