Spent a whole Saturday learning CSS Grid subgrid and it clicked

Last weekend I blocked out like 6 hours just to mess around with subgrid. I've been using CSS Grid for maybe 8 months but always avoided subgrid cause it sounded complicated. Set up a test page with a product card layout that had uneven content boxes. After like 3 hours of trial and error I finally got the nested grids to line up perfectly. The cards went from looking all jagged to having this clean uniform height. Felt like a total nerd but I actually pumped my fist when it worked. Has anyone else had that moment where a grid feature suddenly makes sense after fighting with it all day?

Wait til you discover how many hours you can waste getting flexbox gaps to work perfectly on older browsers haha

My buddy Dave spent a whole Saturday wrestling with subgrid too. He was building this restaurant menu page with like 40 different card items that had varying description lengths and prices. After maybe 5 hours he texted me a photo of his screen with everything perfectly aligned and said "I think I just unlocked a superpower" with a bunch of laughing emojis. He still brings it up whenever anyone mentions CSS Grid to him.
