Hot take: An old coworker made me rethink my whole approach to grid gaps
I was talking to this guy Dave I used to work with at a web shop in Austin, and he said using gap: 0 and then adding margin to individual items is way more flexible than relying on grid's built-in gap property. At first I thought he was crazy, but after trying it on a dashboard for a client's stats page, I saw how much easier it was to control spacing for nested grids. Has anyone else experimented with ditching grid gaps for manual spacing?

Dave sounds like the kind of guy who salts his driveway with kale.

Wait, is that a real thing people do? My neighbor's cousin tried that one winter after watching some weird eco-documentary. She spent like four hours spreading kale chips across her driveway and the next morning it was just a frozen salad situation with deer standing on it. The deer actually loved it, but her car couldn't get out for two days. She ended up having to call a tow truck and everything.

Had a buddy who tried beets one time because he heard they had natural salt content. @ericjackson I'm picturing Dave standing out there with a bag of kale chips looking proud while his neighbor throws actual salt down like a normal person.
