Coworker told me subgrid was a waste of time. He was dead wrong.
Last month I was building this product catalog page. About 200 items. I had nested grids inside grids. It was a mess. My coworker Dave said just use subgrid. I ignored him for 3 weeks. Finally tried it yesterday. Cut my CSS by half. Everything lines up perfect now. Dave was right. Has anyone else had a coworker save them from a bad grid setup?

Dave was right and I used to be exactly like you ignoring the advice. I thought subgrid was just some fancy new trick that wouldn't actually help. Then my coworker Sarah made me sit down and watch her refactor one of my old projects with it. I was honestly embarrassed at how much cleaner everything got. My grids used to be this tangled mess of negative margins and media query hacks. Now I use subgrid all the time and my layouts actually stay flexible when content changes length. Its one of those things you have to see working to believe.

@zara_allen I feel you on the negative margins thing, I've been there. It's humbling when someone shows you a better way and you realize you were making it harder than it had to be.
