A dev in Berlin tore apart my grid nesting, and I owe him one

He said my 5-level nested grids were a maintenance disaster, so I rebuilt the whole layout with named grid areas instead. That refactor saved me maybe 3 hours on the next update. Anyone else get hammered for over-nesting and switch to a flatter approach?

Flat layers just work better in almost everything. My kitchen drawers used to be stacked deep with organizers inside organizers, and grabbing a spatula meant digging through three levels. Tore all that out, now one shallow tray per tool group. Same with my phone folders, I had folders inside folders and never opened them. One screen of labeled folders, done. Deeper nesting always feels smarter until you actually need to change something, then it's just extra steps between you and the thing you want.
