The CSS conf talk in Austin that rewired how I use custom properties
Back in 2019 at that small meetup near the convention center, someone showed a trick for layering CSS variables with fallbacks that made my grid system half its old size. I still build every component that way now, but has anyone else found those fallback chains get messy when you have more than 6 nested levels?
