I still miss the float clearfix days, and my mentor in Austin would laugh at me for it
Back in 2014 I built a whole 3 column page with floats and a clearfix hack, and I felt like a wizard when it finally stopped collapsing. Now I type grid-template-columns: repeat(3, 1fr) and the whole thing works in one line, no psuedo element tricks needed. I get that grid is better in every way, but part of me misses when a layout felt like a puzzle you solved with duct tape. Anyone else keep a float based layout somewhere on purpose, or am I the only one being weird about it?
