CSS gradients felt like a gimmick until I used them for a complex background pattern
I spent 3 hours trying to build a diagonal striped background with SVG repeating patterns and it looked awful on mobile. Out of frustration I tried a CSS linear-gradient with hard color stops and it worked perfectly in 10 lines of code. Has anyone else found a CSS feature they dismissed at first that actually saved them time?

Buddy of mine swore by SVG patterns until his phone literally crashed from the complexity.

Oh man, that's brutal. I mean, you think you're saving time with a cool SVG pattern and then your phone just gives up on you. Idk maybe it's just me but I've definitely learned the hard way that sometimes simpler is better.
