Critique on my hover animation changed how I code transitions
A dev on a CodePen review told me my button hover felt "laggy" because I used all-in-one transition shorthand. He broke it down and made me separate the properties - now I do duration first, then delay, and the whole animation feels snappier. Has anyone else ditched the shorthand for specific controls?

Doesn't the shorthand just save time unless you're obsessing over milliseconds?

joseph_lewis92, it's not really about milliseconds for me. I remember back when I was learning to type in high school, the teacher made us learn shorthand for taking notes in class. We spent all that time learning it, and then when I got to college, I realized I never actually used it for anything important. The shorthand just ended up being a party trick at best. Now with texting, I find the full words help me think through what I'm saying instead of rushing ahead. Maybe it's an age thing, but typing out "you are" instead of "ur" gives me a second to decide if I really want to reply at all.
