Big debate at my kitchen table: raw grid and lines vs just letting a wrapper do the work
Six months back I rebuilt the same card layout twice, once with a plain grid and border lines I drew myself, once with a wrapper div doing all the spacing, and the wrapper version was 14 lines shorter and behaved way better on small screens. My buddy swears the raw grid and line approach is cleaner because nothing is hidden behind extra markup you have to remember later. I think once you get past 30 or so cards the wrapper wins every time. Where do you all land on this, and has anyone measured the repaint cost on either side?
