Warning: someone on Discord said my CSS art looked 'noisy', it changed everything

I spent 4 months on this landscape piece, tons of gradients and shadows, really proud of it. Posted it last Tuesday and one person commented that the layering was too busy, my eye had nowhere to rest. I got defensive at first, but I went back and counted 27 separate box-shadows in one section. I cut it down to 9 and added more negative space. The whole piece reads way better now. Has anyone else gotten feedback that felt harsh but turned out to be super useful?

27 box-shadows" sounds like me with filters, sometimes less really is more.
