Unpopular opinion: pure CSS is better for simple shapes, no more SVG filters for me
I spent last Saturday rebuilding a 3D cube effect in pure CSS after struggling with SVG filter hacks for weeks. The CSS version loaded faster and looked sharper on my 1440p monitor, but my buddy in Austin swears SVG gives smoother gradients. Am I missing something, or does everyone just default to the fancier tool without testing the simple route first?
