Serious question, did a random CodePen comment about box-shadow layering fix my 40 layer sunset?
I was messing around with a pure CSS sunset scene for like 3 weekends straight and it kept looking flat, just a big orange blob with a crooked sun. A guy named Dev_Mike commented on my CodePen saying I should stop stacking 12 divs for the sky and instead do one radial-gradient with hard color stops, then put 3 box-shadows on a single circle for the sun glow. I figured he was the type who comments on everything, you know? But I tried it on a Tuesday night at like 11pm and man, the whole thing changed in 20 minutes. Instead of 40 messy layers I ended up with one thin div and the gradient bands looked way cleaner than my div stack ever did. Now I keep telling people in the comments that box-shadow spread on a round element makes a better glow than a blur filter on a square, which sounds obvious until you waste 3 weekends on the wrong approach. Does anyone else here keep a separate note file of little tricks people drop in comments, or is that just something I do now?
