My CSS blob went from flat gray circle to a shiny marble in about 20 minutes of messing with box-shadow
I had a plain gray circle made with border-radius sitting on a dark background for my portfolio page, and it just looked dead and flat. I kept adding box-shadow layers with different blur and spread values, plus a tiny inset shadow at the top, and watched it turn into something that actually looks like a glass marble with depth. Has anyone else messed with stacking a bunch of box-shadows at once to fake a 3D look, and is there a point where too many layers starts to hurt load time on older phones?
