Heard a kid at the library say CSS art is just 'old school pixel pushing'
I was working on a project at the local library in Eugene last month and overheard a teenager call CSS art 'old school pixel pushing.' Made me realize how much the tools have changed since I started out, but has anyone else found that the basic box-shadow and border-radius tricks still hold up better than most new frameworks?

Oh man, that kid has no idea. I was messing around with CSS art back in like 2010 when we still had to deal with vendor prefixes for everything. Box shadows and border radiuses were magic then and they still work great now. I built this whole little city scene for a client's loading page using just those two properties, and it looked better than some of the canvas stuff I see these days.

Is it really that deep though?
