Found out most CSS art contests use a 100x100 pixel limit

I was browsing through an old CodePen challenge thread from 2021 and saw that a lot of the bigger CSS art competitions cap entries at 100 by 100 pixels. That blew my mind because some of the stuff people make in that tiny space is insane. I always thought bigger canvases were better, but now I'm thinking constraints might actually force more creativity. Has anyone else tried working with a strict size limit like that?

Smaller space actually means fewer things you can fit, so it limits what you can even attempt. A bigger canvas gives you room to do wild stuff that would look like noise crammed into 100 pixels.

Totally agree, it's wild how limits can push people's creativity. Its like how the best sandwich shops always have the tiniest menu, they just focus on making a few things perfect instead of a hundred mediocre ones.
