Finally figured out CSS gradients for shading instead of using multiple divs
I spent two weeks stacking 6 divs to get a simple shaded sphere effect, then found out I could do it all with one radial gradient and a pseudo-element. Has anyone else been overcomplicating their CSS art with too many containers?

Whoa, that's such a great way to put it, @leebrown! My friend literally spent an entire weekend manually resizing a million tiny SVG icons for her website until someone casually told her about the "transform: scale" property (she still brings it up at parties). I guess we're all wired to pick the hard way first, then smack our foreheads when the simple solution shows up.

You ever notice how life's like that too? Spent a month hand-scraping ice off my windshield every morning. Took a neighbor to tell me about remote start. Now I push a button from my kitchen. Same with grocery shopping. Used to walk every aisle twice to find stuff. Then I learned most stores group things by meal type not alphabetical order. Saves me twenty minutes easy. We just naturally assume complicated is the answer.
