Can we talk about the time I watched a guy at a CSS meetup in Chicago rebuild the same button 9 times?
Last year at a CSS meetup in Chicago, a guy spent 45 minutes rebuilding the same button using 3 different gradient layers and a clip-path, just to avoid a border-radius. I had been hacking buttons together with box-shadow for years, and watching him do that made me realize I was just adding layers instead of drawing shapes. Has anyone else had a moment where someone else's approach made you rethink your own CSS habits?

My buddy did something like that with a dropdown menu, spent two hours on custom SVG arrows when the built in one would've been fine. I just sat there watching him fight with viewBox numbers for way too long. Made me go back and delete a bunch of pointless divs from my own stuff the next day.
