Warning: hit 500 abandoned short stories in my folder yesterday

I keep every story I start even if it dies. Opened my writing folder last night and the count was 501 unfinished pieces. How many half dead projects do you have sitting around?

my friend once found 200+ half-finished knitting projects in her closet and that was way more shocking than any writing folder lol. she said it felt like opening a portal to past versions of herself that gave up halfway through everything.

Honestly, 200+ is definitely a lot, but I gotta push back a little on the "gave up halfway" thing. Your friend probably finished a bunch of those and then just forgot she had them stashed in there. Or maybe she started them, got bored, and then moved onto a project that actually ended up being something she wore or gave away. People don't usually hold onto that many unfinished things unless they're just really bad at organizing. Ngl, I've got about 15 half-finished cross stitch pieces in a drawer and I know exactly where every single one of them is in my head. So it's not always about giving up, it's just about not having the time to finish every single spark of inspiration you get.
