Vent: My 5-year-old laptop's keyboard gave out mid-writing sprint yesterday, turning my protagonist's dramatic monologue into pure gibberish.

I was 800 words into a new scene when the 'E' and 'R' keys stopped working, so my character's heartfelt 'Where were you?' became 'Wh ' you?', which honestly might be a better line.

Honestly, the gibberish version has a weird power to it, like the character is so upset they can't even form the words. Makes me wonder if we over-write sometimes. A broken tool forcing a different kind of editing could be a hidden gift, even if it feels awful in the moment. My old tablet's cracked screen made me write shorter sentences because I couldn't see as much text, and it changed my style for the better. Maybe keep a note of that messed up line somewhere.

Makes you wonder what else gets lost when we fix things too fast.
