Vent: I used to chase every prompt idea at 2am, now I write them on receipt paper at the shop
Five years back I'd sit at the kitchen table with a notebook and force out 10 prompts a night, and half of them were junk I never touched again. Now I scribble one or two down between jobs on the back of an invoice, and somehow those turn into actual stories, so is it the pressure or just the timing that makes them stick?

The receipt paper thing is interesting because it's tied to a place where you're already in work mode, not sitting around waiting for ideas. So when you say one or two turn into actual stories, do you mean you write the whole draft that same day or does the scrap of paper just sit in your pocket until the weekend? I'm wondering if the real change is that you stopped trying to make the idea good and just started grabbing it before it slipped away. What does that pile of invoices look like by Friday, do you actually go back through them or just the ones you remember?
