I used to think writing prompts were a crutch until a stranger at a diner in Boise told me his whole novel started from a line on a napkin.

Hold on, a diner in Boise? That's the wild part to me. What are the odds of a random chat turning into a whole book? Makes you wonder what was on that napkin, and what the guy ordered.

My buddy met a guy on a bus who sketched out a whole app idea on a gum wrapper. Makes you think how many good ideas get lost because nobody wrote them down, right? That napkin in Boise probably just had the right person at the right time.

My notes app is full of stuff that made sense at 2 am but looks like nonsense now. Maybe the napkin guy just had better handwriting.
