The time my studio cat knocked over a $900 monitor and I just laughed

Last Tuesday at our little studio in Denver, my cat Oscar decided to leap off a shelf and sent my 27-inch display crashing face-first onto the concrete floor. The thing actually survived with just a tiny scratch in the corner, which honestly felt like a miracle (and a sign I need better cable management). Has anyone else had a near-disaster that somehow worked out fine?

That "Oscar decided to leap off a shelf" part hit close to home. My friend Sarah had a cat named Whiskers who jumped right onto her laptop while she was working on a big design project. The screen cracked in a spiderweb pattern from one corner to the other, and she just sat there staring at it for like five minutes. Somehow the thing still turned on and she managed to finish her project by using an external monitor she had laying around. The cat didn't even seem sorry, just walked off and went to sleep in a sunbeam like nothing happened.

Wait, has anyone else had a cat that seems to know exactly when you're in the middle of something important? @barbara_moore73 that story about Sarah's cat is exactly what happened to my buddy Dave. His cat Jasper was an orange tabby, not the sharpest tool in the shed but man he had timing. Dave was editing a video for a client deadline and Jasper just launched himself from a bookshelf onto the keyboard. Somehow the cat hit some key combo that made the whole editing software crash and lose three hours of work. Dave just sat there with his mouth open for a solid minute while Jasper curled up in his lap purring like he'd done something good. He ended up having to redo everything from scratch and the client never knew... but Dave still talks about it like it was a war wound.
