My buddy Dave mixed his whole first EP on gas station earbuds he found in his glove box, like 6 tracks total. He upgraded to real monitors last year and honestly the mixes got worse for a while because he could finally hear every little flaw. The gear matters way less than just knowing what your stuff sounds like after a few hundred hours.
