I finally tackled that old project binder from 3 years ago

Last week I was cleaning out my closet and found this giant binder I had from a freelance gig in Denver back in 2021. It was full of sketches, client notes, and timeline sheets for a rebranding project that fell through. I spent last night flipping through it and realized how much my process has changed since then. Has anyone else revisited old work and felt like you were looking at a different person's stuff?

the_eric is totally right about past ideas being worth revisiting. I did the same with an old sketchbook from 2019 and found a rough logo concept that actually solved my current client's problem way better than what I was trying to force. It's like leaving notes for yourself (but younger you had no idea they were helping).

Keep that binder. Stuff like that is GOLD for looking back at how you used to think through problems. Next time you get stuck on a project, flip through those old notes and see what you were trying to do - sometimes your past self had a good idea you just forgot about.
