Can we talk about how a studio tour in Portland changed the way I set up my desk?
I visited a small design studio in Portland last October and noticed every desk had the monitor pushed way back and a sketchbook sitting right in front. The owner said they started doing it after a project where everyone kept jumping straight into software instead of thinking on paper first. I tried it at home for two weeks and my thumbnails got way weirder but also way better. Anyone else rearrange their whole setup after seeing someone else's space?

The sketchbook thing is real but the part about pushing the monitor "way back" is what gets missed, most people just shove it to the side and call it done. Back means your neck stops craning and your eyes actually land on the paper first.
