I worked at a small studio in Portland for 2 years and my boss Dana would say this every time I got mad about a revision. I thought she was just tired and jaded. Then last month a client asked me to shrink their logo to 12 pixels and I laughed, sent it anyway, and watched their whole campaign do fine. Turns out she was right, most of us are just making stuff for ourselves and calling it service. So how do you all draw the line between good work and just giving people what they ask for?
