Analog light meters are the real deal, finally got why they're still around

I used to think digital was the only way, then I borrowed an old Sekonic meter at a shoot in Philly and the skin tones just looked right on the first try. Ever had an digital reading fail you in tricky, mixed lighting?

Digital meters have saved me way more times than they've failed, honestly. Mixed lighting is exactly where I trust my spot meter the most, since it gives me a precise number instead of a guess from a needle. Maybe the Sekonic worked because the person using it knew the light well, not because the tech is better. Analog is fun for the feel and the craft, but I'll take a histogram and instant feedback over guessing any day. What made the meter feel so right to you, the build or the reading itself?
