Almost pitched my studio's cash into a custom site, went with a template stack instead
Last year I had about $4,800 set aside to build my little recording studio's site from scratch, and I was this close to signing a $4k custom quote from a developer in Denver. Instead I went with a $19 template kit and spent a weekend wiring it up myself. Six months in, bookings are up 40% and I still have $4,700 sitting in the gear fund. The custom build would have looked nicer, no question, but nobody books a session because your hero animation is smooth. What made you all finally decide to pay for custom versus rolling your own?
