Learn to feather the trigger too, helps a ton with control.

Yeah I actually think slowing down the pick is way overrated for most players. If you got good footwork and can read the defender you can rip it through faster and catch them off balance, especially if they're expecting you to slow down. I'd rather go downhill hard and use a quick rip or hesitation to freeze them, then speed right back up again. Feels more natural than trying to manually feather the trigger.
