That job at the old water treatment plant changed my lift plan approach
I was working on a decommissioned water treatment plant outside of Pittsburgh last spring and had to set a 12 ton pump on a weird angled pad. My usual rigging setup kept making the load shift bad on the second pick. One of the old timers there told me to stop fighting the geometry and just re-rig from a single point over the center of gravity. Has anyone else had a job site teach them a better way to handle off-center loads?

Yeah my buddy tried a single point and his load did a full 360.

You said his buddy's load did a full 360, so I gotta ask @riverk82 - was that with a standard single point sling setup or one of those padded tactical ones? Because Ive seen a lot of guys blame the gear when it's really just how you adjust it on your body. Just curious if your buddy figured out the root cause or if hes still fighting with it.
