Rigging with nylon slings vs chains on a wet job in Seattle

Had a two day job up in Ballard last month moving precast panels in a drizzle, and my chain rigging kept slipping on the wet concrete. Swapped to nylon slings after the first pickup and it made a huge difference in grip and speed, we finished the second day about 3 hours early. Anyone else deal with this, or do you just stick with chains and add friction pads?

Laugh at myself here because I spent ten minutes arguing with a soaked chain sling on a loading dock before admitting the obvious. Wet concrete turns chains into fancy skipping ropes, I swear they just bounce off the surface no matter how tight you crank them. Nylon feels like cheating after that, right? I made the switch for good on anything slick. Guess my stubbornness costs me more time than the friction pads ever saved. Now I just look at the weather report and grab the slings before I even start the truck.
