Rigging math I brushed off for a decade, turns out that load chart app was right

The part about "that load chart app was right" gets me. I spent years doing the math by hand on paper, and I still do it sometimes out of habit. But the app isn't magic, it's just doing the same formulas we all learned. The thing people get wrong is thinking the app knows your actual rig setup, like your exact boom length or reeving. It only knows what you punch in, so if you fat-finger a number or forget to switch the chart, it will happily show you something that can kill you. I've seen guys trust the screen without double checking the angle or the radius. The math is the math, but the input has to be right or the output is just a guess with good graphics.
