Lost a whole morning's pay on a bad rigging chart download
I was setting up for a lift in Portland last week and pulled a rigging chart from a site called 'LiftPro Guides' that looked official but had the wrong sling angles for my 12-ton pick. We had to stop everything and redo the math, which cost me about $400 in lost time. Has anyone else run into sketchy online charts they thought were good?

Yeah that LiftPro Guides site is exactly the kind of thing you gotta watch out for. I've found it's safer to just download charts straight from the manufacturer's own website or use the physical books that come with the crane, even if they're a pain to haul around. Cross referencing with a second source like a buddy's chart or an app from a known company saves a ton of headache too, trust me on that. Better to spend an extra twenty minutes double checking than burn a whole morning like that.

Ugh that's brutal, sorry man. It's wild how much garbage info is floating around now dressed up to look legit. I see it all the time with car repair tutorials and even basic home wiring diagrams. People just slap a professional looking logo on bad data and call it a day. Makes you double check everything, which is exhausting but necessary.
