Lifted a 40-ton HVAC unit onto a 12-story roof in downtown Denver last Tuesday

Wind gust hit 35 mph right as I started the lift and the load swung 4 feet sideways before I could counter it, has anyone else dealt with sudden gusts on tight rooftop picks?

And honestly I used to think guys who complained about wind on rooftop picks were just being dramatic. But after watching a load swing that hard and fast it really changed my mind about how bad a situation can turn in seconds. That gust could have turned a routine job into a very bad day.

Downplay it all you want but that gust could've killed somebody.
